I was curious how you were feeling right now. Good column as always.

I think that a lot of the mixed feelings for Kamala, at least inside me, can be tempered by the knowledge that most likely she is going to have a lot of Biden's administration surrounding her. She has an apparatus to hit the ground at full speed and a pressure to continue a lot of Biden's administration's work. She may buck that, but if she's smart she'll keep as much of it going as she can.

The Gaza thing is a steaming pile of shit but like you said, there literally isn't a better option on the table at this point. If there's an alternative, I'm all ears, but I've been all ears for almost a year now and I haven't heard anyone come up with a better idea that doesn't involve giving Project 2025 the chance it wants to turn this nation literally into a christofascist state. I agree, we're at harm reduction.

On a side note, did you bail on Blue Sky?

Can someone who has actually read the Project 2025 comment on it. Every time I read something about it, it turns out not to be true when I go to the website and search the document.

I’m honestly getting tired of our side sacrificing integrity for political gain. If what we stand for is good and true, then why are we lying so much? I don’t get it. Our side is right, so why are we being dishonest?

If Trump and the Republicans are such great supporters of Project 2025, you’d expect them to be shouting it from the rooftops and promoting it at every opportunity, but they’re not. And it’s published and available for free, so they’re not trying to keep it a secret either.

Trump has said "I know nothing about Project 2025. I have no idea who is behind it. I disagree with some of the things they're saying and some of the things they're saying are absolutely ridiculous and abysmal. Anything they do, I wish them luck, but I have nothing to do with them." Now we all know that he’s a colossal lair, but when has he ever been shy about promoting what he believes?

It’s clear to me that our side has a serious credibility issue, and it’s self-inflicted.

The border IS a problem, but we say it isn’t (“The border is secure and the border is not open.” - Mayorkas). I have friends who can’t access basic human services because of the influx of migrants, and migrant crime IS becoming a serious issue in my city.

The oppression of the Palestinian people IS a problem, but we repeated the falsehoods told by Hamas without vetting them (The Israelis did NOT bomb the Al-Ahli Hospital and kill 500 people, as reported by the New York Times). The truth is bad enough. We don’t need to lie to prove our point, and it diminishes our credibility when we do it.

And people like Joe Scarborough from MSNBC are not doing us any favors.

“Start your tape right now because I'm about to tell you the truth. And F--- you if you can't handle the truth. This version of Biden intellectually, analytically, is the best Biden ever. Not a close second. And I have known him for years. The Brzezinski have known him for 50 years. If it weren't the truth I wouldn't say it." - Joe Scarborough

The President lied about his health, Harris lied about his health, and Joe Scarborough told the biggest lie. I trusted him and he lied to us, and he did it intentionally. Whatever happened to journalistic integrity? How about vetting yours sources? Do they not teach that anymore at Columbia?

Journalists are supposed to be honest, impartial, objective, fair, and accurate. I don’t see that anymore, especially from our side. Activists are not journalist, and I’m tired of them pretending they are. That isn’t the job.

Now, don’t get me wrong, I’m still going to vote for the Dems, but I used to think that our side was the one telling the truth; now, I’m not so sure. I wasn’t raised to lie or support liars, but here we are doing it. And is it worth turning ourselves into monsters in order to fight a monster? I don’t want to win by lying, cheating and stealing, and I don’t want to turn into a piece of shit in pursuit of the greater good. I think we’re better than that.
