Yep, I hate it. The last Dem candidate I marginally liked was Obama and that's just because I let myself be hopeful about some of the hype in spite of myself. It didn't take long for reality to reassert itself. We're closing Gitmo soon, right?
All the criticisms of Harris are 100% valid, and just like Hillary and Joe: she's not good, but she's better than the alternative. I can't quite cosign your "perfect day" scenario. My version is, my exasperated groan will be a lot louder if I wake up and look at my phone and see Trump's name.
Absolutely. The perfect day thing was more to try and get people out of the "fuck it I hope the world burns" loop that I think some people get stuck in
I really do think the worst thing Obama did, maybe, was betray all the hope people gave him. Even Pandora's Box left us hope as a consolation prize for the horrors of this world
Of course voters are responsible for the predictable consequences of their votes. You can't vote for Trump and not know that he plans to deport millions of people, or use the military against Americans who disagree with him. If you are ignorant of these things, you are responsible for your ignorance.
I think we have a moral responsibility to vote for the candidate that will do the least harm. In this election I believe that candidate is Harris. I do not believe I bear the responsibility for every shitty thing she'll do as president. I am making a choice between two possible outcomes, not endorsing the outcome I think is less bad

An Open Letter to Your Friend or Relative Planning to Vote for Trump: You’re Endorsing the Worst of America.
Your Vote for Trump Is an Endorsement of Bigotry, Cruelty, and the Erosion of Rights—No Matter the Reason You Give.

This is the sanest thing I've read in at least a month. Brilliant.
