Thanks for your hard work & may the time away be a time of healing and regaining balance. Anyone who has watched a loved one die (let alone at way too young an age like 60) knows that the aftermath will resound in the living for a long time. You are wise to get away now.

It’s jarring to frame-shift from AI Apocalypse to Christian Apocalypse

Too many apocalypses

Good luck in the woods, Laura. Restore, revive, revitalize. When you’re ready, think through your next piece on how to save us from ourselves…. Peace.

According to Jewish mythology, Rosh Hashanah is the anniversary of the creation of the world and Yom Kippur is the anniversary of the end of the world. (Kind of like Tom Lehrer saying that if we want any folk songs from WWIII, we better start writing them now.) So if the apocalypse doesn’t happen by sundown on Monday, we’re good for another year. Also, one name Jews have for this part of the year is the season of renewal, so heading to a cabin off grid to recharge fits. I trust that besides reading, you will touch lots of grass. Looking forward to your recharged return.
