Congrats again on the Master’s and being done with Kyle 24/7. Enjoy your family time. Glad to have your writing back.

Still reading but worth noting after DeSantis' twitter technical meltdown Tucker may be seeing his "twitter show" as even less appealing now. Elon's little stunt couldn't handle 500k viewers. When he recovered from the problem, only 250k re-connected.

Twitter is not a TV replacement.

Also it's fascinating how Elmo is going full potato towards the right now.

I hope you enjoy your turn at the Mause Hause. They have to sell margaritas somewhere. My dad worked at Disneyland in the 70's and told me a story of the time he put some graffiti on the bathroom wall. It was a question that is one of the most profound philosophical questions of our time, so I will ask it of you.

How does it feel to be taking a shit in the happiest place on earth?

"IHow does it feel to be taking a shit in the happiest place on earth?" has retroactively redeemed the entire experience

And yeah--if Tucker signed anything he's got to be kicking himself now. Turns out when you gut an employee pool and push the remaining ones to work 16-hour days, quality suffers. Who knew?

The opportunity to read things like this makes me feel better about having finally and forever nuked the Twitter account I had since 2009. I didn't have a lot of followers and I certainly won't be missed over there, but I did occasionally enjoy The Discourse and the lulz it generated.

I got to the end, and could NOT STOP think of the last 90 seconds of Full Metal Jacket.

Hey Lady! There is a YUUUGEamount of territory covered here but I want to comment on Neely. We hide from death in America so lots of people have no idea that when you die you void your bowels and bladder. Penny was "trained" to use the choke hold and knew damn well IMO he eas killing Neely. In that "intimate" hold ge also knew when Neely died by both smell and feeling. He chose not to release well b4 which makes it murder. We had to do "baton training" when i was in the Army which isn't twirling like a cheerleader but using a billy club in riot/crowd control situations. First day of training(yes it was 3 days) the MP in charge warned us that if used "incorrectly" you could easily break bones and even kill people. I mention this bc as you well know LE wields them at protests in ways calculated to maim or potentially kill. Same with chokehold. How many cases of LE using chokeholds and not letting go untill the person is dead? Too many. So Penny knowingly murdered Neely IMO FULL STOP.

Absolutely. I'd love to say it's astounding that anyone doubts it, and I kind of suspect no one does doubt it. They just think it was a good move

Would love to be wrong about that

It's horrifying from start to finish

Really hoping for a deeper dive into the Durham matter.

It genuinely seems to me like Lawfare is doing it for me. Unlike the lib outlets I perused, they're talking about the Russian intel re: Hillary Clinton planning to accuse Trump of colluding with Russia, and I look forward to the rest of the analysis

Sounds like “nothing to see here, move along or you might get hurt.”

So a pretty uneventful couple of months, then?

I have economic apocalypse blue balls from the way the debt ceiling was covered this time around. They even had my girl Janet Yellen throwing it back for them.

("Uncharismatic dripless weirdo" gave me a hearty chuckle)

I discovered your writing the same time I rediscovered the Denver Nuggets. Seriously, while I was engrossed in the world's reactions to the murder of George Floyd, my main focus was Portland and the NBA playoffs, which both moved me to tears multiple nights.

I was majoring in commie lesbian dance theory, but I dropped out. Just couldn't hack the math...

Apologies for what may have ventured into "dad joke" territory.

Anyway, I still don't think you were entirely wrong about King Cheeto. He's clearly going to get the GOP nod and I'm glad. He's eminently beatable at this point. He still has most of his base (though support has eroded) but the center won't fall for his con again and he can't win without them. It doesn't matter that a lot of people don't like Joe - a lot of us didn't like him in the first place and wished he hand't run, but in a contest between him and Donald? It's pretty clear which evil is the lesser.

Beau of the Fifth Column has been saying for a while that the mistake the GOP made by tying themselves to Trump is that their candidates can't win a primary without him, but they have trouble winning a general election with him. As time has gone on, it's pretty clear that the same issues apply to Trump himself. I think it's a pretty accurate assessment.
