One of the coolest things about my job is the thing where, sometimes, I get to read a very good book and then talk to the author of that book. This happened recently with God Forgives, Brothers Don’t by Jasper Craven: a book about military education and masculinity and authoritarianism and a lot of other things. It’s the kind of book that answers questions you didn’t know you had and leaves you with questions you hadn’t thought to ask. I had a great time talking about the book with Craven, and I hope you enjoy our conversation too.
(Please forgive the background mess and poor quality video on my end; this was recorded in a guest room on about 2 hours of sleep)
If this interview makes you want to read the book, you can (and should!) purchase it wherever fine books are sold.
